How long will I stay on Saxenda Weight Loss Pens?

Saxenda is administered once daily.

How much Saxenda do I need and how long should I stay on it?

Saxenda is a pre-filled injection pen.

Once you begin your Saxenda course, a single pen should last around 16 days and five pens should last around six weeks. You should follow a 5-week dose escalation to reach the fully effective 3-mg dose. The 5-week dose-escalation period can reduce the likelihood of gastrointestinal symptoms.

Saxenda UK Dose

The Saxenda starting dose is 0.6 mg subcutaneously, SC, per day for 1 week. You should increase the dose by 0.6 mg each week until the full maintenance dose of 3 mg is reached. By the start of the fifth week you should be on the maximum maintenance dose.

Week 1 - 0.6 mg SC once daily x 7 days.

Week 2 - 1.2 mg SC once daily x 7 days.

Week 3 - 1.8 mg SC once daily x 7 days.

Week 4 - 2.4 mg SC once daily x 7 days.

Week 5 onwards ı 3.0 mg SC once daily.

You should have lost at least 5% of your starting body weight by week 12 if you want to continue with Saxenda.

How long can you continue taking Saxenda UK (1)

When you reach week 16 (or 12 weeks on the full dose), your healthcare professional will assess if Saxenda UK is working for you. At that point, if you have reached a weight loss of 5% or more (at least 4% of the BMI in adolescents), it's a good indicator that your body is responding well to treatment and you should continue Saxenda®. If you haven't achieved at least 5% weight loss (at least 4% of the BMI in adolescents), you and your healthcare professional should stop Saxenda UK and revisit your weight management plan or treatment options.

How many sessions of fat dissolving injections?

For the best results, you'll need between two and eight treatments, depending on the size of the area treated. Most common is two to three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.

WORKING WITH YOUR BODY’S NATURAL FUNCTION

AQUALYX injections break down fat in a controlled way, so your body can safely remove it through its lymphatic system. This simple and effective procedure shrinks double chins as well as improving the definition of the jawline. The treatment contracts the skin in order to achieve a more streamlined, youthful appearance. AQUALYX typically requires a course of two to four treatments with four to six-week intervals between each session. Although the procedure doesn’t hurt, you should expect some swelling which can take up to three weeks to subside. Although the fat doesn’t come back, AQUALYX should only be used as a supplement to a healthy lifestyle, and is only intended for dealing with small pockets of fat rather than for providing a complete weight loss solution. Unlike liposuction, AQUALYX normally leads to a degree of skin contraction too, so you’re less likely to end up with loose skin around the areas which have been treated.
